About The Weiss Life
I'm just a forty-something Florida girl. I love my husband, my girls, my pups, my friends & family, music, activity and adventure (exploring locally and traveling globally!). I believe in the power of words, an unlimited potential, the possibility of change, and the need for people to JUST DANCE, GIVE GRACE, GET OUTSIDE and SLOW the F- DOWN.
Beyond that, I'm a licensed therapist. My previous work history included brand strategy, design and copywriting. I do that all freelance now.
In addition, I have leanings to homeschool my kiddos (they’re in a hybrid program currently), and I post about that process SOMETIMES here AND here.
Jill-of-all-trades or maybe none at all? You decide. :)
Disclaimer: This is my personal blog. My mind dump. It's messy. I'm messy. I claim no authority on anything (or anyone) BUT myself. The blog reflects that. It's often a catch-all for random and sometimes a soapbox for specifics. I don't take myself too seriously, so I beg you to do the same!
The story behind the blog:
When I began blogging waaayyy back in the day (think late 1990’s), I did so under the title “Ordered Chaos.” That matters now only because it STILL represents the head & heart space out of which I share …
Pied Beauty by Gerard Manley Hopkins:
GLORY be to God for dappled things—
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough;
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.
Life is a dappled beauty — perfectly imperfect. We, God's children, are chaos, full of potential and designed as such, for much. God makes us unique, offers us a part in an eternal story and gives us a chance to write something beautiful and meaningful, even in the midst of our/their mess. We are all ordered chaos ... and, for me, that truth is freedom. Freedom to be me.
